Is luxury vinyl flooring waterproof?
We are often asked whether luxury vinyl is classified as waterproof flooring, and we are happy to say that it is. Today, we?re going to tell you more about why and what you?ll receive from these products in your own home.
Your options in waterproof flooring
In the luxury vinyl flooring line, there are two products available to you. One is vinyl plank flooring, also known as LVP, and the other is luxury vinyl tile, also known as LVT flooring.
The only difference between the two is that LVP offers the plank format, while LVT brings you a tile option that you can even accent with actual grouting. They both perform in much the same way for visual appeal and outstanding durability.
The core layer is responsible for your waterproof protection and is usually made of vinyl, wood plastic composite, or stone plastic composite to ensure no water damage is possible. You can confidently floor your basements, laundry rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms with this material, regardless of the circumstances.
To complete imperviousness to water, these floors also protect you from daily wear, including scratches, dents, fading, and more. With proper maintenance and daily cleaning, you?ll find these materials look like new longer than you might expect.
